Dr. Harry Benjamin, author of the groundbreaking book, The Transsexual Phenomenon, died in 1896 at the age of 101. On January 10, 1987, a memorial service was held for Dr. Benjamin at the New York Academy of Medicine. This three-hour service was videotaped and edited down to thirteen minutes.
